Airline Transport Pilot Theoretical course

Flyschool theoretical Arline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) course is developed in accordance with the European regulations EASA-FCL, recognized and approved by State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA). This course is directed to Private Pilot License (PPL) holders that wish to progress in their aviation carear and desire to become a commander in airline transport passengers.

Presence-based mode
Duration: 12 months theory classes and 1.200 learning hours
Place: Aeropuerto de Madrid-Cuatro Vientos, schedule (M-F): 09:30 to 14:30 or 16:00 to 21:00
Upcoming dates: January and April

Semi-presential mode
Duration: 8 months theory classes and 900 learning hours
Place: Av. 25 de septiembre, 8 – Madrid (parking available), schedule (M-F): morning: 10:00 to 14:00/ afternoon: 17:00 to 21:00 Upcoming dates: September, December, February and May

Online mode
Duration: 6 to 12 months theory classes and 650 learning hours
Place: video-conference

3Online/video-conference Option

Frequently asked questions

What privileges do I get wirh the ATPL theory?
Passing the theoretical ATPL course gives the possibility for the student to obtain the CPL(A), IR(A) and ATPL(FROZEN) license once the training requirements and the minimum of flight hours stipulated by the aviation authority, have been met.

How much time do I have to dedicate to study?
Classes are of 4/5 hours duration with their corresponding breaks. It is recommended to study through CBT before the class in order to prepare the subject, after the classes to consolidate the knowledge and in general to prepare for the exams.

What are the requirements needed for registration?.
General requirements for registration are: must be at least 18 years of age, baccalaureat in technology or higher post-secondary education. Otherwise, the school may ask the student to take an entry test and/or an initial math, physics and English course.

Where can I get the medical certificate?
The medical certificate is not necessary in order to take this course since it is theoretical but it is recommended that the student have the class 1 aeronautical medical certificate before registration.

How are the course official exams?
The theoretical exams are multiple-choice with an only one valid response. In all, there are 6 examination dates and 4 per subject. The exam can be taken at SENASA or at the school. The period of time to pass all exams is of 18 months.

What can i do if I need additional training?
Not all students achieve their goals at the same time. Those students who need individual support may request private lessons with respective subject teacher, the provate classes can be shared among several students. .

If I choose an online course, will I have the support of a teacher?
Of course. Students have a permanent tutor and several means of contact such as e mail, facetime or video call, and the possibility to come to school for private tutoring with the local subject teachers.
